All students that are or have been doing their masters in Architecture and/or Urbanism are obligated to complete a two-year track of undertaking practial experience under guidance before registering in the National Record. In Dutch called the BEP, or BeroepsErvaringsPeriode, this track is necessary if willing to register as either an architect or urbanist, and is built up out of a heap of events and cases together with a fulltime job at an office.

Many students, although not all, go through this track before starting their official career. Therefore, VIA organises an evening on-campus every year, where experts and recent BEP-graduates explain and share their stories to set everything straight before entering. Often held between April and June, the event is very useful to join once as a master student in one of these tracks.

More info can be found on the websites below, which are institutions that either deal with or provide support on the BEP.
